Congress leader Manish Tewari spreads lies about Christian priest rescued from ISIS captivity

In March 2016, Congress leader Manish Tewari had tweeted about an alleged crucification of Father Thomas Uzhunnali by the ISIS and ‘questioned’ Indian government’s inaction because “he was a Christian”.

Unless Tewari believes that it’s possible for a human being to come back to life after crucification, he was clearly spreading lies, because Father Thomas is alive.

It was confirmed earlier this week that Father Thomas Uzhunnali was rescued from Yemen with help of governments of Oman, Saudi Arabia and the Vatican.

External Affairs Minister then re-tweeted her tweets where other Christians were rescued from conflict zones like Yemen and Kabul amongst others, in a clear response to allegation of Tewari about a possible bias against Christians:

It should be recalled that the Prime Minister too had spoken about rescue and release of Indian Christians held captive in conflict zones, yet Manish Tewari thought that the government was not rescuing Christians:

On getting called out for his mischievous remarks, Tewari then shifted goal-post and resorted to name-calling Swaraj. He called her “Minister of Counsellor Affairs and cheerleader” for PM Modi.

He even accused Swaraj of not having any role to play in rescue of Father Thomas Uzhannali, whom he himself had claimed to have been crucified over a year ago. He forgot that Swaraj herself had thanked the governments of Oman and Yemen, yet the Congress leader suggested that there was an attempt to deny the credit to these countries:

He clearly seems unapologetic about spreading fake story about Father Thomas Uzhannali’s crucification and blaming Modi government for not doing anything about it because he is a Christian.

After all when a friendly mainstream media doesn’t call out your lies and propaganda, it becomes easy to be brazen.
