BMC demolishes illegal extensions in BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha’s Mumbai residence

Following the Kamala Mills tragedy, Mumbai civic body BMC has gone on an overdrive demolishing illegal constructions. The latest one to face the same is actor and BJP MP from Patna Sahib in Bihar, Shatrughan Sinha. The BMC carried out the demolition drive at his Juhu residence following the complaints BMC has been receiving for Sinha’s residence ‘Ramayan’. As per reports, illegal construction was discovered at his eight-storey building in the suburbs of Mumbai. An office, a puja room, two toilets and a pantry were found in the refuge areas and a toilet in the terrace was illegal. Sinha, has reportedly been cooperative with the authorities.

BMC had received complaint against Sinha, following which notices were sent on 6th December, 2017 and 7th January 2018 before the demolition was carried out.

Earlier in 2016, actor Irrfan and Kapil Sharma had also faced BMC’s wrath for illegal construction in their apartments.
