Kasganj murder : Bareilly DM questions raising ‘anti-Pak’ slogans in Muslim areas

Following the murder of Chandan Gupta in Kasganj on Republic Day over communal clashes during Tiranga Yatra, even as ‘liberals’ blamed him for his own death, Bareilly District Magistrate has questioned taking out processions in Muslim locality raising ‘anti-Pak’ slogans.

As per reports, in a Facebook post, Raghvendra Vikram Singh has asked why it has become a ‘trend’ for some to enter Muslim locality by ‘force’, raise ‘anti-Pakistan’ slogans and then create a ruckus. Singh told Times of India that he was ‘upset and angry’ at what was happening in the name of nationalism. In a post in Hindi, he says ‘it is a strange trend now to take procession out in Muslim locality and shout ‘Pakistan Murdabad’. Are they Pakistani? Similarly this happened in Khelam in Bareilly which led to pelting of stones..’

According to his profile on Facebook, he has served in the army where he was posted in Jammu & Kashmir, Ranchi and Hyderabad before completion of Short Service Commission. Following that, he joined civil services in Uttar Pradesh.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Keshav Prasad Maurya has reportedly said that action will be taken against Singh for his post.

This is not the first time stones were pelted on processions when passing through Muslim localities. In July last year, Muslim mob had attacked Kaanvariyas for passing through ‘their area’ in Bareilly.
