Artist accuses Rahul Gandhi of ‘stealing’ her art work on social media

An artist named Sania Dsilva has accused the Congress President Rahul Gandhi of ‘stealing’ her art work of Lord Shiva and posting it on his Facebook page without her permission and even without giving credit to her. She shared her disappointment and frustration in a Facebook post.

The artwork appears to be the intellectual property of Sania Dsilva as she has been selling her work under the brand ‘A little more whirl’. The poster that was used without permission by Rahul Gandhi is available for sale at this link. The poster costs $12.50 (around 800 rupees).

Rahul Gandhi had shared the same art work on Twitter as well on the eve of Maha Shivratri.

While Rahul Gandhi’s official Facebook page appears to have removed the image after Sania’s objection, the art work is still there on his official Twitter profile by the time this report was published.

Appears that in a rush to prove himself a ‘Shiv Bhakt’, Rahul Gandhi is not even caring about copyright issues or basic courtesies about asking artists for permission to use their work or crediting them. Or will Rahul Gandhi say that he is so poor that he can not afford 800 rupees to buy a poster?
