As Congress-Nirav Modi links get deeper, Rahul Gandhi scores a self goal in a bid to attack the PM

The Congress party president Rahul Gandhi in his press conference said that the Nirav Modi scam could not have happened without the protection of people in high places. He said that he had learnt about this fact from former finance minister P Chidambaram. This statement is a self-goal because it would mean that Congress had approved the fraud which began in 2011.

In addition to this, he connected the Nirav Modi fraud to the demonetisation exercise and asked the prime minister and finance minister to speak about the scam.

This press conference by the Congress President came after Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s press-conference regarding Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi’s involvement in Nirav Modi’s ‘Fire star diamond international Pvt Ltd’. Abhishek Manu Singhvi had denied these allegations a separate press conference.

Thus, the Congress party that accuses the Prime Minister of having supported the Nirav Modi scam based on a group photo taken in Davos must now answer some serious questions that are based o the hard evidence against its spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi and his wife.

We had earlier reported the stunning revelations about how a whistleblower was silence by the then Congress regime and how the scam had finally reached the doorstep of the Congress.  While the political blame game is on, ED has conducted massive raids and siezed about 5,649 crores worth gems and the CBI has arrested 3 in the case. Summons have also been issued to Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi and their passports have been revoked.
