Congress MLA’s son Mohammed Nalapad Haris surrenders to police, gets a rousing welcome outside the police station

Yesterday, the Congress party had expelled the general secretary of its Bengaluru youth wing for six years after he was accused of brutally thrashing a person at a pub. The accused, Mohammad Nalapad Haris reportedly spent 24 hours in a 5-star hotel for a day before surrendering to the police this morning.

What is more surprising is that the goon’s father, Congress MLA NA Haris has not apologised for the incident. He accused the political parties of politicising the incident while speaking to the media. The MLA also claimed that he has asked his son to surrender. In addition to this, Mohammed Haris got a rousing welcome at the Cubbon Park Police station as his supporters had thronged outside the police station in large numbers.

BJP and JDS protestors were also present outside the police station. The police struggled to manage the crowds. The protestors demanded that the police must register a case under IPC section 307 (attempt to murder). They also suspected that the police would register a soft complaint that would allow him to escape easily.

The attitude of Congress supporters demonstrates the brazen support that Mohammed Nalapad Haris’ enjoys in Congress. Times Now reported that his supporters treated him as a hero and supported him in spite of his brutal attack on a citizen at the pub.
