In a shocking incident, a minor girl was allegedly abducted and raped inside a place of worship for a ‘particular community’ in Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh. After a week-long search, the accused Mohammad Shadan has been arrested. Shadan is a resident of Shahjahanpur.
As per reports, on 8th March, late in the evening, the accused allegedly lured the child towards the place of worship where he raped her. The girl escaped and people gathered to catch the culprit, who had by then ran away. This led to communal tension in the town and additional police force from nearby cities was called on.
A week later, yesterday, the police were finally able to nab the culprit. During talks with the reporters, police said that since the culprit was of a ‘particular community’, extra police forces were called in.
A case under POSCO has been registered against Mohammad Shadan.
