Journalist Saba Naqvi who has managed to make a name for herself for dishonest journalism, created an issue on Thursday evening, after tweeting her possible exasperation at her flight’s pilot being named ‘Amit Shah’:

As seen in the above tweet, Saba claimed that the pilot flying her Jet Airways flight to Bangalore was named Amit Shah, and either seriously or in jest expressed exasperation over the same. This was soon picked up by Twitter users, who decided to give it back to her for creating an issue out of a non-issue, thereby exposing her hatred:

While this could have been the end of the issue, but one twitter user claimed that he too had flown on the same flight and that the pilot wasn’t named Amit Shah:

We too decided to dig into the matter and searched the members list of Federation of Indian Pilots, a member body of Indian pilots to ascertain whether they had any pilot by the name of Amit Shah registered. Incidentally, that search didn’t throw up any such pilot name:

Even variations like “Ameet Shah” or “Amit Saha” failed to throw up any matches:

A Google search though throws up a Linkedin profile of a First Officer named Amit Shah who claims to be working for Jet Airways, raising the question whether he was the one who had the ‘experience’ of flying Saba Naqvi.

People though might refuse to give Saba the benefit of the doubt, owing to her controversial past as a journalist. It was reported all the way back in 2016 how she was accused of blurring the lines between being a journalist and an AAP cheerleader.
