JD(S) party workers caught bribing voters in Muluru in Kolar, Karnataka

The polling in Karnataka has started, but with people exercising their right to choose, there remains a constant shadow of ill that some political parties indulge in. According to a video posted by Times Now, people associated with the Janata Dal (Secular) party has been caught giving out money to voters in an effort to secure their votes in Maluru in Kolar, Karnataka.


The video posted by Times Now comprises two short clips, the first one depicts a party worker with the voter list on one hand and a crisp bundle of 500 rupees notes on other, counting and distributing them among voters. According to Times Now, people were given 1000 INR for their vote.

The Second part of the video depicts party men form JD(S) standing and interacting with the voters when one of them hands the voter list to another and the other person puts cash inside the folded voter list and gives it back to the person. The people seen in the video represent the local JD(S) candidate Manjunath.

This is not new, this cash for vote scheme has been persistent in elections in India for quite some time. Recently Congress Mla Munirathna Naidu was booked by the Election commission in Karnataka for bribing voters.
