BSP supremo Mayawati seems to have started to devise tricks to save her government bungalow in Lucknow, which she has been asked to vacate by the Yogi Adityanath led Uttar Pradesh government, Dainik Jagran has reported.
As per the report, Mayawati after deciding to leave her 13 A Mal Avenue bungalow, has planned on making it a memorial rest house, named after BSP founder Kanshi Ram. Till date, the place adjacent to the bungalow was called the memorial rest house.
The report has claimed that Mayawati was reluctant to vacate her house and hence decided to put up the Kanshi Ram memorial board, a picture of which was carried by a Jansatta report:
As per the Jansatta report, this move will result in her not letting go of the bungalow, while she shifts to the nearby 9 Mal Avenue house, which is privately owned. The report also claims that owing to the bungalow being linked to Kanshi Ram, the Yogi government would be cautious in its approach.
We had recently reported how the Yogi government had issued notices which directed six former state Chief Ministers to vacate their official bungalows within the next 15 days. These notices are in line with a 7 May Supreme Court order which struck down the act which enabled the former Chief Ministers eligible for official accommodation.
These six former Chief Ministers include Mulayam Singh Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav, Mayawati, Rajnath Singh, Kalyan Singh and N D Tiwari.
Earlier it was noted that Mulayam too had tried to save his and his son Akhilesh’s bungalow by requesting CM Yogi to get around the rules and allot those bungalows to SP leaders Ram Govind Chaudhary and Ahmed Hasan.
It is now also being claimed that Akhilesh on Monday wrote to the state property officer asking for more time to vacate his bungalow.
