Several posters were reportedly seen in Mathura which threatened destruction of prominent temples in Mathura, Vrindavan, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, and Ayodhya within 48 hours. Police responded quickly by removing these posters and increasing vigilance in the area.
The news of the posters on the walls of a school and RPF (Railway Protection Force) barrack, located on Mal Godam Road, was received by in-charge C.B. Prasad on Saturday evening. The posters proclaimed demolition of Kashi Vishwanath temple in Banaras. According to reports, he did not find any posters on the spot but informed the senior officials since the matter was sensitive. GRP (Government Railway Police) in-charge Gaurav Saxena had also received the same information. UP DGP has asked Mathura SSP Prabhakar Chaudhary for a report and filing of FIR against unidentified individuals. He has promised that law and order in the state will be maintained at all costs. All others posters who pulled down from other parts of the city. The Police has assured that the culprits will be brought to book as soon as possible.
Important places such as Krishna Janmabhoomi have been placed under constant vigil and drones are being used for monitor the campuses. All activities in the areas inside and outside the temples are recorded. In-charge of Highway police station Udaiveer Singh Malik informed that this might well be the notoriety of few anti-social elements. However the police will take this issue seriously.
