We have reported earlier that the Enforcement Directorate has told the Delhi Patiala House Court that alleged Agusta Westland middleman Christian Michel has mentioned ‘Mrs. Gandhi’ during interrogation.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has targeted the Congress party over the deal in the past. And in light of the revelations made by the ED in Court, Minister for HRD, Prakash Javdekar held a press conference on the matter.

Javdekar stated that everything points towards the ‘Family’ and that the Gandhi parivar has been exposed today.

Javdekar claimed that it was further evidence of the manner in which the Congress party has looted the country. Asserting that Michel had revealed more code names apart from AP and Fam, Javdekar said, “He has said ‘R’, he has said ‘party leader’, he has said ‘Big man’,” before adding, “That shows how Congress looted left, right and centre while they were in power.”

Javdekar did not spare former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh either. He said, “The Accidental Prime Minister presided over a ‘Loot Raj’,” referring to the biopic on him featuring Anupam Kher. He further called the previous administration a ‘government of scams’.

Javdekar has also attacked Congress President Rahul Gandhi over the latter’s vigorous support for HAL in recent times. Javdekar said that the revelations have exposed the manner in which HAL was sidelined in the Agusta Westland deal by the government.

Apart from allegations in the Agusta Westland deal, Sonia and Rahul Gandhi are also out on bail in the National Herald case, a fact that Javdekar did not fail to note. Javedekar also asserted that the Court’s decision to extend Ed’s custody of Michel shows that there’s merit in the case. Michel’s lawyer has also been ordered to keep a distance of 3 feet from him and has been granted visiting time of only 15 minutes each every morning and evening.

Law Minister Ravishankar Prasad also attacked the Congress party over the Agusta Westland deal. He told Times Now, “Today, the Raazdaar has revealed everything. Let the facts come out. The first family, the Gandhis, have a lot to explain.”

Christian Michel is a middleman in the VVIP chopper deal between AgustaWestland and the Indian Air Force (IAF). The wanted fugitive and middleman in the Rs 3,600-crore AgustaWestland chopper deal, Christian Michel, was brought to India earlier this month following his extradition by the UAE.
Christian Michel is accused of money laundering, bribery, and fraud in connection with the Rs 3,600-crore worth AgustaWestland scam. It is believed that not only did he pay kickbacks to politicians, officers and agents but also involved certain celebrity journalists to swing the deal.
