Congress MPs fly paper planes inside the parliament, is Rahul Gandhi bringing another revolutionary idea to India?

Just when we were beginning to think Rahul Gandhi has come of age and under his leadership, Congress party is ready to reach new heights, higher than even the Agusta choppers can reach, his MPs have revealed a sky of new possibilities inside the parliament today. Congress is ushering in a new era, where UFOs might be replaced with PFOs, Paper-made Flying Objects.

During a Lok Sabha session today, while Finance Minister Arun Jaitley was defending his government’s move to procure Rafale jets from the Dassault through an inter-governmental contract, a few Congress ministers started throwing paper planes towards Arun Jaitley. Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan interrupted and criticised the Congress MPs for their unseemly behaviour.

Commenting on their misconduct, Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan lambasted Congress ministers for their blatant hypocrisy and unparliamentary demeanor. Mahajan said, “ You have requested this discussion. You have to listen to this. You cannot behave in this manner. You have to bear the proceedings.” Mahajan claimed that it was Congress who asked for the discussion but it is the Congress who are not stalling the proceedings.

When the Congress MPs didn’t heed her advice and started hurling paper planes at Arun Jaitley, she further retorted, “You all are behaving like kids. Didn’t you guys fly paper planes when you were in school? Are you all grown up adults or are you still kids?”

Congress party has had a close association with flying machines and understandably so. Rajiv Gandhi and Sanjay Gandhi were both pilots. Many Congress leaders have had close associations with aircraft too. Some of their senior leaders have even died in plane crashes, mysteriously. Reports about the AgustaWestland scam say that Sonia Gandhi allegedly did not want to fly in old boring choppers and wanted shiny AgustaWestland choppers for VVIPs. So Congress MPs’ obsession is quite natural.

These paper planes will not just be another nasty excuse for Sanghi trolls to add to the list of childish things they associate with Rahul Gandhi, like Pogo, Chhota Bheem and Doraemon, they might as well end up being an election rally promise, like mobile factories. Rahul Gandhi does not just tear up ordinances and wastes paper, he makes his MPs prepare planes with that paper and thus recycles them. Rahul Gandhi, the founder of mobile factories, the connector of MRIs and the innovators of Alu-Sona machines is also the flyer of paper planes.

So what every allegation of scam in Rafale deal has been demolished with facts and figures by the government, so what even Dassault Aviation and the French Government have denied any pressure or foul play in the deal, so what the Supreme Court too has established that there was no scam, Court orders have never stopped the esteemed Gandhis from getting their way anyway. Emergency and the Shah Bano verdict are a testimony to that.

Congress MPs have even justified their actions admirably.

Though none of the PFOs reach their target and the Finance minister did not even grant the attention accorded to fruit flies to the brilliant display of handicraft and creativity during his speech, this might as well go down in the history of the house as a  moment when a revolutionary idea was born. Rahul Gandhi seems to have recently watched the movie Inception and got the idea of flying paper planes to bring revolution instead of the pinwheel.
