Former IAS officer who called India a “Rapistan” is now “inspired by Imran Khan and Arvind Kejriwal”

Shah Faesal was the fist UPSC topper from Jammu and Kashmir

On January 9, Indian Administrative Officer from Jammu and Kashmir cadre, Shah Faesal had tendered his resignation citing the alarming rise of “Hindutva” forces and “unabated” killings of Muslims in Kashmir and India. Now, the Former IAS officer has expressed his penchant for the Prime Minister Of Pakistan Imran Khan and Delhi Cheif Miniter Arvind Kejriwal. He said:

“I am truly inspired by Imran Khan and Kejriwal. But, we are operating in a conflict zone and it is not very easy to work in that space. Space has lost its legitimacy in the last few years”

It is not the first time that Shah Faesal has expressed his admiration for the Pakistani PM. Last year, after Imran Khan was voted to power in Pakistan, Shah Faesal had blamed India of being sceptic about the “reconciliation” efforts undertaken by new PM.

He also faced a Departmental Enquiry last year, after he had labelled India a ‘Rapistan’. J&K administrative department had found his remarks defaming the image of the country and had alleged that he failed to maintain decorum and acted in a manner, unbecoming of an IAS officer. He later had brazenly mocked the enquiry and the letter sent by the department.

The former IAS was speculated to join politics, after Former CM of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah welcomed him after his resignation. However, Faesal has said that he will contest upcoming elections, but would not join any mainstream political party. He added that his future course of action will be ascertained by the people of Kashmir.
