Saudi Arabia deporting hundreds of Rohingyas to Bangladesh, UNHRC condemns India for deporting 5

Some of the illegal Rohingya immigrants have also been carrying passports of India, Pakistan, and Nepal to enter Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia has decided to deport illegal Rohingya immigrants out of their territory. Rohingyas who were put under detention for about five to six years by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are now being lined up to be sent back to Bangladesh, reported India Today.

In a viral video, a detainee is reportedly heard saying that he has been in Saudi Arabia for the past six years and is now being sent to Bangladesh. The illegal Rohingya immigrants are lined up for deportations at the Shumaisi detention centre in Jeddah. Some of those Rohingya immigrants were also put in handcuffs after they had made attempts to resist the deportation.

“I’ve been here for the last five to six years, now they are sending me to Bangladesh. Please pray for me,” he said. “They came to our cells in the middle of the night, telling us to pack our bags and get ready for Bangladesh. They put handcuffs on me and now making us wait.” said another voice note.

Reportedly, most of the Rohingya immigrants had gone to Saudi Arabia carrying Bangladeshi passports which were obtained using fake documents. They were locked up in the Shumaisi detention centre. Shockingly, some of those illegal immigrants had even used the passports from India, Nepal, Pakistan and Nepal to enter Saudi Arabia.

On 3 January, India had deported a family of five Rohingyas to Myanmar after they had entered the country illegally. The UNHCR had reportedly expressed its disappointment and sought clarification from India over the deportation of those illegal immigrants. It will now be interesting to watch what sort of reactions, if any, the UNHRC expresses at the mass deportation done by Saudi Arabia.

Recently, in October, Seven Rohingya Muslims who were lodged in jail since 2012 for illegally entering India were sent to the Myanmar border for deportation. The government has also decided to deport 23 more Rohingyas, who have been staying at various detention camps in Assam after they were caught staying illegally in the state.

According to estimates, there are about 40,000 Rohingyas living illegally in Hyderabad, Jammu, Kanpur and outskirts of Delhi and are indulging in criminal activities, drug trafficking, executing terror activities teaming up with ISI sleeper cells. Shockingly, the names of nearly 190 Rohingya illegal immigrants residing in Telangana had appeared in the state voters’ lists.

The pseudo-liberals in India, who have a misplaced sense of humanitarianism shed fake tears for the cause of these illegal Rohingya immigrants despite Rohingya has posed a huge national security risk for the country. Human Rights groups with questionable integrity had criticised the move without acknowledging the complexity of national security risks that could be brought by allowing Rohingyas to stay in the country.
