BJP government got soldiers killed for electoral gains: Gujarat Congress leader’s controversial remark

While such frivolous statements could be dismissed as conspiracy theories, knowing Congress President Rahul Gandhi's distasteful attacks on Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and politicising his personal visit to the ailing chief minister to lie about Rafale deal, these should not really be taken lightly.

Days after Congress supporting abusive troll built the ground for the conspiracy theory that the dastardly terror attack in Pulwama was an inside job, Gujarat Congress leader from Junagadh has parroted similar lines.

While attending a program to pay respects to the martyrs, Junagadh Congress leader cast aspersions that the BJP government was involved in the terror attack. “Whenever there are elections, they(BJP) does something like this. Earlier, Godhra carnage was carried out (before 2002 Gujarat elections) and today, the Pulwama attack is also suspicious. The soldiers are murdered. When Congress comes to power, then we will investigate this.”

Amipara then brazened it out that as a citizen of India he was raising suspicion that whenever elections are around the corner, there are incidents of riots.

He further adds that while such terrorists should be identified and neutralised, somewhere the BJP and Modi will do politics on the bodies of the soldiers. Hence, he has raised his suspicions over BJP’s involvement in Pulwama attack.

While such frivolous statements could be dismissed as conspiracy theories, knowing Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s distasteful attacks on Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and politicising his personal visit to the ailing chief minister to lie about Rafale deal, these should not really be taken lightly.

These cases are not in isolation.

Gujarat Congress leader Bharat Solanki

Gujarat Congress leader Bharat Solanki, while responding to a tweet by controversial journalist Rajdeep Sardesai, had wondered if the Pulwama attack was because the BJP wanted a script for a new movie.

Solanki, however, later deleted his tweet.

The fact that Congress-supporting troll as well as Gujarat Congress leader have raked up 2002 Godhra carnage and tried to create a narrative that the BJP carried out the Pulwama attacks could be more than just a coincidence.

It is indeed unfortunate that the political discourse in India has reached such a low.
