In the wake of the dastardly terrorist attack in Pulwama, where 44 CRPF personnel were martyred, India has suspended the cross-LOC bus service between Poonch in Jammu and Rawalakot in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir.

Earlier today, an encounter broke between the security forces and Pakistan’s Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists in Pulwama, about 15 kms away from where the terror attack took place last week. 4 soldiers, including an Army Major, were martyred in the attack.

The bus service was last suspended in July 2018 for 17 weeks due to heavy firing and shelling from Pakistan’s side. The bus service between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad had started in April 2005 and between Poonch, Jammu and Rawalakot, Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir on 20th June 2006. The bus services were started to facilitate easier trade and travel between families which were divided between Jammu and Kashmir and the Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir.
