Victim of Congress’ fake ‘Hindu Terror’ bogey, Sadhvi Pragya joins BJP, will contest 2019 Lok Sabha Elections

The arrest of Sadhvi Pragya among others was used by the Congress party to fan the theory of “Hindu Terrorism”.

Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur has officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. She will contest the Lok Sabha Elections on a BJP ticket. The NIA had given her a clean chit in the Malegaon Blasts case in 2016 after years of brutal torture in prison.

Widely believed to be one of the victims of the Congress party’s attempt to invent Hindu Terror, Sadhvi Pragya was granted bail in April 2017, eight long years after she was jailed. Her legal representative said in an exclusive interview to OpIndia.com that she should have been granted bail in half an hour based on the circumstances of the case. We were further told that there was no credible evidence against her.

In an interview last year, the Sadhvi revealed the brutal torture she had to endure during the course of her imprisonment. “I was brutally beaten by male officers with a broad expeller belt, day and night for 24 days in custody. My arms and legs were swollen, which were then immersed in salty warm water, and the beatings resumed,” she had said. Filthy abuses were hurled at her and she was exposed to objectionable CDs in an effort to extract a confession from her and implicate senior RSS leaders.

The arrest of Sadhvi Pragya among others was used by the Congress party to fan the theory of “Hindu Terrorism”. Many have gone on to assert, including a senior official in the erstwhile UPA administration, that the entire charade was an elaborate ploy organized by senior members of the UPA administration for political gains.

There have been speculations that Sadhvi Pragya could contest against senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh, one of the chief architects of the Hindu Terror narrative. Her victory against Singh would be poetic justice for all the hardships she has endured.
