The CPM has once again sought to insult the devotees of Lord Ayyapa. Today, at the Kerelaverma College in Thrissur, the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) put up a derogatory poster of Sabarimala’s Lord Ayyappa, reports Janmabhumi. The SFI is the student body of CPM, the ruling party in Kerala.

The poster painted on a flex board depicts the Lord Ayyappa being drenched in menstrual blood and hanging upside down between a women’s legs. As per the report, the poster reads “wherever menstruation is seen as impure, there they are denying their own birth”.

Hindu organisations, Ayyappa devotees and politicians have arrived at the spot, and they have requested the college authorities to remove the derogatory poster. The BJP has accused the CPM of insulting the Ayyappa devotees once again by putting up the poster.

Freedom of expression doesn’t come for free in Kerala and the ruling party is known for their bias against Hindus. The Communist government had recently reversed its decision to award a cartoonist for mocking rape accused Bishop Franco, as it hurt religious sentiments. In a shocking revelation, a total of 119 people have been booked for derogatory posts against the CM on social media, since the government assumed charge.

The CPM makes its bias even more visible with its decision to directly intervene and stop the removal of illegal crosses planted on encroached land, holy to the Hindus.

The state government had accepted the verdict of the Supreme Court to all women of all ages into the Sabarimala temple, contrary to the pleas of the devotees. Around 2000 protesters have been arrested for trying to save their traditions. Kerala has seen one of its largest congregations of Hindus against Communist govt’s desecration of Sabarimala.
