Under pressure after a humiliating defeat in the recent Lok Sabha elections, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister has now shifted the blame on the previous BJP government after failing to deliver services in the state.
Attacked by the people and opposition parties in the state for severe power shortage and unscheduled power cuts, Chief Minister Kamal Nath has now desperately resorted to publishing advertisements in local newspapers indirectly blaming the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for creating problems which are leading to these power cuts.
The advertisements put up by Kamal Nath government claims that there is no shortage of electricity in Madhya Pradesh but implied that it is BJP which had created hurdles that are leading to power cuts.
“I want to assure you that shortage of electricity is no reason behind the power related problems being experienced for the past few days,” the advertisements read. “The reasons are not making improvements in the system in the past and creating manmade obstructions in smooth supply (of power).”
“MP is a power supply state and the random power cuts are due to tripping and technical glitches. The government will not allow people to suffer and will take action against any negligence from the power department”.
Reportedly, the advertisements come at a time when Kamal Nath has been receiving criticism from the BJP over his inability to provide electricity. Faggan Singh Kulaste, Minister of State in the Ministry of Steel, had criticised the Madhya Pradesh government for being ineffective in providing either development or relied on people in Madhya Pradesh.
Reportedly, the CM’s media manager has clarified that by ‘man-made obstructions, the CM means ‘BJP minded people’. Nath’s move comes soon after famous Urdu poet Rahat Indori had tweeted regarding the frequent power cuts in the state during Ramzan. Indori’s tweet had gone viral on social media inviting a lot of jibes and puns at the Kamal Nath government.
