Ever since Team India’s Away jersey was revealed, the ‘liberals’ have been up in the arms against the same. While some called it ‘saffronisation’ because of the orange colour, others chose to mock it by referring to it as ‘petrol pump’ uniform.

Apparently, the ‘liberal’ elites have no qualms in mocking the working class just because they don’t agree with a particular political ideology.
Team India’s Away jersey has colours which are similar to the Indian Oil’s logo and the pump attendants used to wear similar colour uniform earlier. OpIndia talked to a few Indian Oil petrol pump workers who said they are extremely proud that the team India is wearing their colours.
The petrol pump attendant above said that the new Team India jersey has colours similar to their previous uniform. He said that has put them up on an international platform. He says it is a matter of pride for India. “Those who mock, let them, but we are very happy,” said Shivkumar Verma, an Indian Oil petrol pump worker.
Dharamraj Diwakar, another petrol pump worker based in Ahmedabad said he is proud that the Team India is wearing uniform of colour similar to theirs. “We are getting respect even from the customers who used to talk to us rudely,” he said.
Prakash Verma, another petrol pump worker OpIndia talked to said that he is proud that Indian cricket team is wearing uniform which has colours similar to their uniform.
Team India’s new jersey has been embroiled in controversies since the new colour schemence was announced. It was previously reported that team India was required to change its colours while playing against England. This new rule of jersey by ICC is inspired by the concept of ‘home’ and ‘away’ jerseys in soccer, where if the two teams have the same colour kit, the home team can retain it while the visiting team has to use a different coloured kit.
