The Modi government has taken several historic decisions today. Led by Home Minister Amit Shah in the Parliament, the government introduced a bill to make Article 370 null and void. With that, Article 35A would also become redundant. In another massive move, the Modi government declared Jammu and Kashmir a Union Territory with Legislature and Ladakh a separate Union Territory without Legislature.
With this, the massive speculations regarding what the Modi government was planning in Kashmir has come to an end. Yesterday, top leaders of Kashmir including Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah under house arrest.
For as long as one can remember, the Modi government has stood by its decision to scrap Article 370 and Article 35A, however, several people including his ardent supporters did believe that this may as well just be a pipe dream. Proving his detractors wrong, the Modi, Shah and Doval trio have delivered on this long-standing promise and taken India to a new chapter of History – one of unification.
Other than his detractors who merely doubted the realisation of this promise, Omar Abdullah, who has been tweeting incoherently since the last night, had in 2014 published 3 tweets where he had not only questioned the intent of the Modi government but also challenged the state to repeal; these articles.
In his first tweet, Omar Abdullah had said that the MOS PMO has said that the process of discussion for the revocation of Article 370 has begun. He exclaimed that it was a ‘quick beginning’. This was right after the Modi government had come to power in 2014.

Then came the clincher. Omar Abdullah emphatically tweeted that long after the Modi government is a distant memory, either Jammu and Kashmir will not be a part of India or Article 370 will still exist.

He said Article 370 is the ‘only’ constitutional link between Kashmir and India.

With Article 370 gone, Omar Abdullah’s childish ‘challenge’ from 2014 is turning into a source of amusement.
Jammu and Kashmir is still a part of India. Will always be. Article 370 is gone and now, J&K is a Union Territory making the Czars who pandered to separatists redundant.
