BJP leader Kapil Mishra has targeted the AAP for boycotting and running away from the student body elections in the Delhi University. The student wing of the AAP- Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS) has boycotted the Delhi University Election (DUSU Election).

Taking a dig at Aam Aadmi Party, BJP leader Kapil Mishra said that CYSS has fled from the elections fearing a humiliating defeat. He added that Aam Aadmi Party, which had contested in the past DUSU elections in the name of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, ran away from contesting this time.

“The youth of Delhi are very angry with Arvind Kejriwal. Due to the fear of getting defeated, the AAP has decided to withdraw from the election. Before the assembly elections, fear of big defeat is scaring Kejriwal,” said former Karawal Nagar MLA Mishra.

Earlier, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) student unit had claimed that they would boycott DUSU elections as their demand to conduct elections through ballot paper was rejected. The AAP had demanded that DUSU elections should be held through ballot papers. Even some of the members of the CYSS had sat on a hunger strike demanding the same.

AAP has stated that while CYSS members will contest elections in college level, they have been directed to focus on the upcoming assembly elections. The DUSU elections will now be a contest between NSUI and ABVP.
