‘Howdy, Modi!’ causes heartburn, Pakistani minister and their army spokesperson try claiming ’empty stadium’ to find solace

As PM Modi and US President Donald Trump addressed an unprecedented, rockstar level crowd at Houston’s NRG stadium yesterday, the massive success and fervour surrounding the event had caused some discomfort to our quarrelsome neighbour.

As the preparations for the mega-event were on and it was already trending worldwide as the event where two leaders of two great nations came together to address an enormous crowd of Indian Americans, who had gathered at the NRG stadium at Houston, Texas, Pakistan’s national propaganda peddlers were perhaps having some very uncomfortable time.

In the morning, Twitter was already awash with the lacklustre way Pakistan’s PM Imran Khan was received on his arrival in the USA. There were apparently no American government representatives to welcome him. The doormat being used as a ‘red carpet’ had also drawn a lot of jokes on social media.

In the evening, as the media, public and social media users started focusing on the ‘Howdy, Modi’ event, Pakistan’s favourite propagandists, their ‘science and technology’ minister Chaudhary Fawad Hussain and DGISPR Asif Ghafoor tried to peddle the claim that the stadium is empty and the event is a flop show.

Fawad Hussain had shared a Tweet by journalist Suhasini Haider and claimed that despite spending Billions of rupees, India could not even gather a good number of people from ‘USA, Canada and beyond’. He had also claimed that ‘money cannot buy everything. However, in his excitement, he had forgotten to note that the image he had shared was from before PM Modi had even arrived at the venue.

Perhaps the replies to his tweet and the media visuals of an ocean of people waving, chanting and cheering for PM Modi and President Trump later made Fawad so sad that he kept silent for the rest of the night.

DGISPR Asif Ghafoor, famous in India as ‘Ghafoora’, had also shared an image where some empty seats were visible, taken before PM Modi’s arrival, to claim it was a ‘flop show’. After live media visuals, and perhaps for the fear of being humiliated on Twitter beyond his maximum daily humiliation level, he promptly deleted the tweet.

Pakistani minister Chaudhary Fawad Hussain is known for his cheap remarks and an unhealthy obsession with India that is starting to border on lunacy. He was slammed by his own countrymen for jumping in glee and behaving like a two-bit troll when ISRO’s Vikram Lander had lost contact just 2.1 km above the moon surface. He was slammed recently again for his vulgar and cheap comments on the occasion of PM Modi’s birthday on September 17.
