In an attempt to wage nuclear terrorism, Pakistan secretly working to use radioactive ‘dirty bomb’ in Kashmir: Report

Pakistan, which has found no support in its anti-India tirade following abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu & Kashmir now seems to have resorted to dirty tricks to wage a nuclear war against India. According to a report by India TV, United States’ Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has shared an intelligence report with India which reveals that rattled Pakistan is preparing a “dirty bomb” which will be used from the Pakistan territory that will scatter radioactive materials to cause trouble across the border in India.

As per the report, the United States Homeland Security department FEMA – Federal Emergency Management Agency – has shared a factsheet with Indian intelligence agencies regarding this plan from Pakistan.

Moreover, Pakistan is also planning to send the Talibani terrorists into Kashmir. It is learnt that Pakistan has trained close to 15 terrorists to carry out attacks in India.

What exactly is a ‘dirty bomb’:

A “dirty bomb” is one type of a radiological dispersal device — also called an RDD — that combines conventional explosives, such as dynamite, with radioactive material. The terms dirty bomb and RDD are often used interchangeably. This device though does not cause an atomic blast but uses dynamites and other explosive to scatter radioactive materials which can cause contamination.

Though the impact of a dirty bomb is far less than that of a nuclear bomb, by using the former the terrorist’s main objective is to spread contamination and anxiety. This is not a “weapon of mass destruction” but a “weapon of mass disruption.”

A dirty bomb comprises of many elements, most times it is a mixture of multiple radioactive elements in an unstable form to cause maximum damage. Nine reactors produced isotopes stand out as being suitable for radiological terror: americium-241, californium-252, caesium-137, cobalt-60, iridium-192, plutonium-238, polonium-210, radium-226 and strontium-90.

After-effects of the dirty bomb:

The device in its natural form will cause major nuclear contamination in a specific region which may not cause mass death toll to rise immediately but will result in wide-spread health hazards.

The after-effects of a ‘dirty bomb’ explosion can be catastrophic. The radioactive particle can spread over multiple means and pollute the very basic needs of life. The effects of such radioactive contamination will be visible long term. Loss of life can be unimaginable.

After Pakistan’ repeated attempts to peddle a false anti-India narrative to the world has failed miserably, the terror state is now attempting to wage nuclear terrorism in the Valley by creating this dirty bomb.

As per the India TV report, Abdulla-al-Muhajir, an ISIS thinker, who was arrested by the FBI has confessed to that ISIS and Afghan militants have been trained in nuclear terrorism. The FBI has reportedly shared this information and other reports with NSA Ajit Doval who will be discussing the matter with his US counterpart while he is with PM Modi on the sidelines of the UNGA.

Pakistan has not only been trying to disrupt peace in Kashmir by pushing in terrorist into the Valley through the borders, but it has also been persistently trying to spread fake and malicious news through social media to create an atmosphere of panic in the Valley. Moreover, spooked Pakistan’s Prime Minister has been running pillar to post trying to convince the world to isolate India but has failed every such attempt.
