Youth Congress shares images from Pakistan to criticise PM Modi and BJP led Khattar government in Haryana

Congress flags

The Congress party which is fighting an existential battle against the mighty BJP seems to be trying too hard to influence voters. However, in an attempt to mount a fight against BJP, Youth Congress has now resorted to posting fake images to target them ahead of the state assembly elections.

The Indian Youth Congress, the youth wing of the Indian National Congress party, on Monday tweeted that the BJP-led Haryana government, in its four-year tenure, has provided only 647 jobs in the state while becoming the world’s richest party and “emptying” the coffers of the Reserve Bank of India.

The youth wing of the grand old party shared an infographic on the same, using an image where people can be seen protesting against unemployment.

However, in a bid to attack the Haryana BJP government, the Indian National Congress social media cell resorted to half-truths by posting images shot at Pakistan to propagate those images as being taken in Haryana.

However, the same photo was first published by Tribune- a Pakistan daily while covering protests in Balochistan over unemployment way back in 2010.

Tribune.pk report from 2010

In the picture used by Tribune.com.pk, it can clearly be seen that the picture is at least from 2010 or before and in the picture, unemployed Pakistanis can be seen protesting and displaying their degrees in Jaffarabad, Balochistan.

After getting caught, the Youth Congress has now deleted the post criticising the Modi government.

In another post, Haryana Youth Congress shared an image stating that the Modi government has failed in providing employment opportunities to the youth of Haryana. In their infographic, the Congress social media cell has shared an image of a protest claiming that the unemployment rate in the state is 8.6%, which is second highest in the country.

However, according to Twitter user Ankur Singh, the image shared by the Congress party was taken at a protest by unemployed youth in 2012 and not against the NDA government contrary to the claims of the Congress party.

In another gaffe, the youth Congress used the images of protests that had erupted against their own Congress government in 2013 to attack the incumbent Manohar Lal Khattar government in Haryana.

The above image shared by the Congress party to attack the Khattar government was shot at a farmers protest against Biotech giants Monsanto pesticides at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi during the UPA rule in 2013. The Congress social media cell has now deleted the post after facing embarrassment.

There seems to be no end to Congress party’s fake propaganda against the BJP government in Haryana. In another post, now deleted, the Congress social media cell has targeted Haryana government while claiming that there is a shortage of doctors in Jind Hospital.

In a hurry to target the BJP, the Congress shared a misleading image of patients waiting in a hospital claiming to be it as the Jind hospital, Haryana. However, the image was taken in 2017 at a hospital in Siliguri, West Bengal.

The deliberate propaganda is not just limited to Haryana as even Maharasthra Youth Congress joined the race to propagate half-truths against the incumbent BJP government. In a post, the Maharasthra Youth Congress have a shared an image criticising the Narendra Modi government for alleged unemployment in the country.

However, in doing so, they have tweeted an image of contestants lining up for participating in a reality show Indian Idol in 2012 while passing the image as a protest by the youth against the Narendra Modi government.

This is not the first time that Congress party is using half-truths and whole lies to attack the BJP. Earlier this year, former Congress IT cell head Divya Spandana had spread half-truths about the Vande Bharat Express to discredit the government and insensitively dragged the Pulwama Attack into it in the process.

Senior Congress leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was also caught sharing misleading images of present CM Yediyurappa and other senior BJP leaders, accusing them of ‘hypocrisy’ after Siddaramaiah had claimed that they had attended Tippu Jayanti in the past. However, in a hurry to target the CM, senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah had shared images related to events that are no way related to Tippu Jayanti celebrations.
