Two years after Bollywood actor and film critic Kamaal R Khan (KRK) took the legal route to get his Twitter account restored after suspension, another Indian, senior Supreme Court lawyer Sanjay Hegde had recently announced he would even knock the doors of international court to get his Twitter account restored.

Hegde had claimed that his account was suspended for a tweet he had posted in 2017. His account has been suspended a few times since October this year. Earlier, he claimed his account was suspended for having the Nazi resistance image as his header image. His account was restored after the image was deleted. Next day, as per him, his account was suspended for a 2017 tweet where he had shared a Gorakh Pandey poem titled ‘Hang Him’.

After his account suspension, many twitterati decided to boycott Twitter to show solidarity with Hegde. However, such a ‘protest’ was a symbolic one as it was only a 24 hour protest. Championing the ‘boycott’ was communist leader Kavita Krishnan, who took time out of her regular protests to participate in this new protest. She said that she will boycott Twitter for 24 hours starting noon on 6th November.

In her tweet, she had said how during the ‘boycott’ period, she (along with other freelance protestors) will not log in to Twitter.

Except, Twitter addiction is so real that at around 12:54 PM, only 54 minutes into her ‘boycott’, she could not resist and ended up tweeting something to ex-Aam Aadmi Party founding member Prashant Bhushan.

That is not it. She could not even resist ‘liking’ a tweet by Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal which was posted at 2:14 PM. Here is the image of ‘likes’ tab of Kavita Krishnan.

The tweet by Arvind Kejriwal was posted at 2:14 PM. Two hours, 14 minutes after Kavita Krishnan claimed she would log out of Twitter and not access it, she was busy ‘liking’ tweets.

Just goes to show how the ‘boycott’ was just another farce, like everything else the communists do in name of resistance, protest and ‘fight for democracy’.
