Hyderabad Rape Case: The accused were under influence of alcohol, confessed to their crimes, says police remand report

The remand report says that Muhammad Ali caught her hands, Shiva took hold of her legs, Naveen held her by her waist and together, they forcibly dragged her to the nearby bushes.

The remand report filed by the police in the shocking Hyderabad rape and murder case has revealed the brutalities inflicted by the perpetrators of the crime on the innocent woman. It now reveals that the four accused dragged her into an open plot, forced her to drink whiskey, hit her on the head, raped and killed her – all within one hour. The report details how the crime was committed in a detailed manner.

The remand report says that Muhammad Ali caught her hands, Shiva took hold of her legs, Naveen held her by her waist and together, they forcibly dragged her to the nearby bushes. She continued to scream and they shut her off by placing their hands over her mouth. It was Naveen who grabbed her phone and switched it off. They also fed her alcohol forcibly. Midway through her ordeal, she became unconscious. When she regained her consciousness, the accused decided to kill her.

It was Muhammad Ali who murdered her. He suffocated her to death. Naveen decided to keep her phone, power bank and wrist watch for himself. Then, they decided to dispose of her dead body with diesel and petrol. They found the bridge near the Ashiyana Hotel and decided to dispose of her body under it. The SIM card of the deceased was burnt along with her body. The accused have confessed to their crimes and have told the Police that they will lead them to the place where the deceased’s belongings were hidden.

According to the remand report, the Police also received help from one Lingaram Praveen Goud, who works at a petrol bunk in the area. He informed the Police that two men in a red scooter had tried to buy petrol in plastic bottles that night. However, he didn’t sell it to them because they looked suspicious. He also told the Police that he could help the Police identify the men. This helped the Police to nab the accused. Muhammad Ali was arrested first and the rest were arrested afterwards.

The remand report also notes that the plan was hatched under the influence of alcohol. It notes that at 5.30 pm on 27th November, the accused bought one 750 ml bottle of whiskey. They spotted the deceased for the first time as they were consuming alcohol. When they saw that she had parked her scooty at the spot and went somewhere, they decided that they will ‘satiate their sexual desire’ on her return. As per their plan, they went ahead and removed the air from the rear tire of her scooty. By the time she returned to the spot, it was late and they had already finished the bottle of whiskey and were already into their next bottle.

As Preeti Reddy (name changed) was returning home from work a little after 8 pm to pick her vehicle, she noticed a flat tire. She immediately called her sister, who suggested that she leave her two-wheeler at the toll plaza and take a cab home. Before she could that, two of the accused, Muhammad Ali and Chenna Keshavulu, approached her, who offered to take her vehicle for repair. The woman was then ambushed and dragged into the bushes by the accused barely 50 meters from Tondupally toll plaza behind a line of trucks that was parked near the road. Her charred body was found under an underpass next morning.
