I-T dept issues show cause notice to Congress over Rs 175 crores black money allegedly received through Hawala

As per reports, the show cause notice was served on Monday after Congress failed to submit some documents related to flow of unaccounted funds from Hyderabad-based infrastructure company.

The Indian National Congress has received a show-cause notice from the Income Tax department over allegations of receiving black money to the tune of Rs 175 crores from a Hyderabad-based company. Reportedly, senior Congress office bearers who were summoned by the I-T Department on November 4 did not show up.


As per reports, the show cause notice was served on Monday after Congress failed to submit some documents related to flow of unaccounted funds from Hyderabad-based infrastructure company.

Reportedly, during the recent raids, the Income Tax Department has found that the Hyderabad-based infrastructure company has sent about Rs 175 crore to Congress through hawala transaction. These funds were reportedly siphoned out through government projects through bogus billings.

Hyderabad-based company Megha Infrastructure Ltd reportedly sent black money donations to Congress. Congress is yet to respond to these allegations.
