Karnataka: Engineering college rusticates 3 Kashmiri students after they were arrested for raising “Pakistani Zindabad” slogans celebrating Pulwama attack

Soon after the video was circulated on Whatsapp, agitated students sought out the Kashmiri students and thrashed them for insulting the supreme sacrifice made by the CRPF soldiers and extending their loyalty to Pakistan

Three Kashmiri students studying in the KLE Engineering college in Hubballi town of Karnataka have been rusticated by the College Management after being charged with sedition for expressing their allegiance to enemy country Pakistan. In a video that has gone viral, the three students were seen chanting “Pakistan Zindabad” slogans on the 1st anniversary of the Pulwama attack in which 40 CRPF soldiers lost their lives.

As can be seen in the video attached in the above tweet, the three Kashmiri students introduce themselves in the video and later chant “Pakistan Zindabad”. Soon after the video was circulated on Whatsapp, agitated students sought out the Kashmiri students and thrashed them for insulting the supreme sacrifice made by the CRPF soldiers and extending their loyalty to Pakistan.

Identified as Aamir, Basit and Talib, the three Kashmiri students had secured admission in the KLE Engineering college in Hubballi through Kashmiri quota and were pursuing their second year in Civil Engineering course. Taking cognisance of the reprehensible video shared by the students, the Hubballi police arrested them after a member of a Hindu outfit filed a complaint against them.

Enraged by the video insulting the CRPF personnel, some members of a Hindu organisation tried to thwack the accused when they were being taken into custody by the police. The college management subsequently rusticated the students after police arrested them for raising pro-Pakistan slogans.

The video showering praises on Pakistan was shared on February 14, 2020, one year after the dreadful attack on CRPF convoy that claimed 40 precious lives of CRPF personnel. On February 14, 2019, a Hinduphobic Jaish-e-Muhammad terrorist rammed a car full of explosives to one of the vehicles in the CRPF convoy, killing 40 soldiers. With the aim to avenge the Pulwama attack, India conducted Balakot airstrikes a few days later, annihilating a JeM training centre and reportedly killing 200-300 terrorists.
