Arvind Kejriwal steals official X and YouTube accounts of Delhi CMO by renaming to KejriwalAtWork, later deletes the official govt accounts

In the recently held Delhi Assembly Elections, the Aam Aadmi Party lost its stranglehold on the National Capital with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) comprehensively beating them. However, it looks like AAP is not ready to relinquish the X handles of its government even if they are being forced to relinquish power to the BJP.

Notably, Delhi Chief Minister Office’s official account was renamed KejriwalAtWork, making it look like Arvind Kejriwal’s personal account. The handle was changed to @KejriwalAtWork, and the name was changed to Arvind Kejriwal At Work.

However, later the renamed X account was deleted. Clicking the link to the X account shows that it does not exist. In the meanwhile, after the CMODelhi account name was changed, some squater has opened a parody account on X using this name.

Interesting to note that Arvind Kejriwal had resigned from the post of Delhi Chief Minister after getting bail in the Delhi Liquor Scam. AAP leader Atishi became CM after that. However, it looks like Arvind Kejriwal always had control of the Delhi CMO account and now has changed the handle to promote himself.

Moreover, the official YouTube account of the Delhi Government has also been deleted following AAP’s loss in elections. The account had over 2,500 videos and over 465000 subscribers. The link to the YouTube channel of the Delhi govt now shows the message “This channel is not available.”

Notably, before deleting the channel, the YouTube channel was renamed to ‘Arvind Kejriwal Govt Works”, thereby stealing the official channel. Searching for ‘dofficial youtube channel of government of nct of delhi’ on Google produces the following result, showing that it had been renamed.

However, they later deleted the videos from the channel and then deleted the YouTube channel itself.

Interestingly, Arvind Kejriwal lost his own seat in the recent Delhi elections, losing the New Delhi seat to Parvesh Verma.
