CS Rangarajan, the priest of Chilkur Balaji temple near Hyderabad, was attacked by some miscreants at his residence on Friday morning, January 8. The Moinabad police have arrested a person named Veera Raghava Reddy for attacking and threatening the old priest.
Priest CS Ranagrajan suffered internal injuries in the attack and was taken to the hospital following the incident. His son who tried to save his father, was also injured. The priest was discharged after treatment.
Moinabad station inspector G Pavan Kumar Reddy informed that the arrested person Veera Raghava Redddy is associated with an organisation called ‘Society of Rama Rajya’. On the morning of Friday, he had reached priest Rangarajan’s residence with 20 of his followers and had insisted that the priest should join his organisation. After the priest refused to join, he started an argument and eventually got violent. The police suspect that Raghava Reddy may have been hoping for some funding and when the priest refused to join his organisation he got angry.
