A tent city built in Prayagraj without any government permission has been ordered to pack up and shut down. As per reports, the tent city named ‘Justa Shivir’ was made over 2 months ago in a rural area near to sector 22 of the Kumbh grounds. Though the area is officially under Kumbh Mela grounds, reports stated that it was difficult to reach and had no concrete roads.
The Jhunsi police have deployed a team to track down the people who got the tent city constructed and ran it for over a month, probably earning crores in profit. To mislead the devotees coming there and to make it legitimate, the owners had used the name of a religious guru in the entrance area.
On Monday, some contractors and labourers were seen packing up the tents and beddings, along with other items and loading them for transport. Jagran reported that the police and Prayagraj administration has issued orders to arrest accused contractor Mahavir Singh, Alok Srivastav, Pranav Pal and others in this case.
