Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Professor Rajeev Sijariya has been suspended by the University in a Rs 1,8 crore bribery case. Sijariya is a professor at JNU’s Atal Bihari Vajpayee School of Management and Entrepreneurship (ABVSME). He was earlier arrested by CBI in the case.
Rajeev Sijariya is allegedly involved in the bribery case linked to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) report. He allegedly demanded the bribe to prepare a favourable NAAC report.
Reportedly, the suspension order of Sijariya read, “Rajeev Sijariya has prima facie been found to be involved in the corruption case related to allegations of bribery for securing a favourable A++ NAAC accreditation rating to KLEF. The undersigned in exercise of her powers, hereby places Sijariya under suspension with immediate effect from the services of the University pending the outcome of the CBI inquiry/findings and departmental inquiry.”
The suspension order was issued by JNU VC Santishree Pandit.
