Mukesh Chandrakar murder: Rajdeep Sardesai rushes to defend Congress after arrest of party leader Suresh Chandrakar

India Today ‘journalist’ and longtime Congress loyalist rushed to defend Congress after party leader Suresh Chandrakar was arrested in connection with the brutal murder of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Mr Sardesai sought to muddle accused Suresh Chandrakar’s party affiliation, parroting Chhattisgarh Congress leader Bhupendra Baghel’s claim that he had switched to the BJP.

“The prime accused, Suresh Chandrakar in the murder of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar was a Congress member. Former Chattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel claims he has recently switched to BJP. What is clear is that the murder was committed to hide misdeeds in road contracts, a familiar source of corruption, one which flourishes under state patronage,” Sardesai tweeted.

While Sardesai tried to downplay Suresh Chandrakar’s links to the Congress party, it is noteworthy to mention that the road scam took place under the Congress regime, and the journalist’s report on the same was during the Congress government’s rule in the state.
