Mumbai: Complaint filed against Ranveer Allahabadia, Samay Raina and others for ‘abusive language’ on ‘India’s Got Latent’ show

A complaint has been filed in Mumbai against YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia (Beer Biceps), social media influencer Apoorva Mukhija (Rebel Kid), comedian Samay Raina, and the organisers of India’s Got Latent for allegedly using abusive language on the show. The complaint was filed after several clips with offensive language from the show had gone viral on social media.

Content creators Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija, along with podcaster Ranveer Allahabadia (Beer Biceps), appeared in an episode of comedian Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent. Allahabadia posed a controversial “would you rather” question regarding an intimate relationship between a contestant’s parents during the show. The remark quickly went viral, sparking outrage on social media.

In another short video that is doing the rounds on the internet, Mukhija could be seen abusing a contestant and making inappropriate remarks.

When asked about the controversy, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that while he had not seen the clip, he was aware of the situation. He acknowledged that freedom of speech has its limits and that violating societal norms is “absolutely wrong,” adding that appropriate action should be taken.

The viral videos sparked outrage online, with many social media users condemning Ranveer, Mukhija, Raina, and the show organisers for degrading humour by passing off a slew of invectives and perverted remarks as comedy.
