Sambhal violence: Aamir Ansari and Md Imran arrested for stone pelting on police, total arrests now at 60

The police investigations and arrest of absconding accused involved with the Sambhal violence on November 24 are ongoing.On January 13, Monday, two more accused persons named Aamir Ansari and Mohammad Imran. Ansar and Imran were both from Mohalla Kotgarbi and were wanted for pelting stones on police official on November 24, 2024.

Both accused had fled to different cities following the police crackdown on rioters. They were arrested when they returned to their respective homes.

Sambhal SP has informed that the names and identities of accused persons were traced from surveillance footage and videos during the violence. So far, a total of 60 persons, including 4 women, have been arrested for their involvement in the violence that took place following the court-ordered survey of the Jama Masjid in Sambhal.
