Newly elected President Donald Trump has posted a cryptic post that “Today’s the big one”. Notably Trump is set to meet PM Modi in Washington DC later tonight.
“Three great weeks, perhaps the best ever, but today is the big one: Reciprocal tariffs!!! Make America Great Again!!!” Trump posted ion his Truth Social platform.
The move is expected to further disrupt global trade. Donald Trump has been critical of what he sees as unfair trade practices, and his administration had previously pressured countries to lower tariffs on American goods.
President Trump has introduced tariffs on goods from Canada, Mexico, and China since his return to the White House.
