Last year, NDTV was taken to task by an ordinary social media user for a gross “error”. During a show on the channel, with NDTV chief promoter Dr Prannoy Roy on camera, NDTV used a map of India showing Aksai Chin as a part of China and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir as a part of Pakistan. The user filed a complaint on the Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) and soon NDTV was made to apologise on prime time, by the News Broadcasting Standards Authority:

Today, on Independence Day, CNN News 18 did an NDTV. In a tweet commemorating Independence Day, CNN News 18 put out a Map of India which did not show Pakistan Occupied Kashmir as a part of India:
What the people at CNN News 18 did not realise, was quickly picked up by alert social media users. Soon, readers pointed out that the map used was incorrect:

One user also tagged the Prime Minister, Home Minister and the I & B Minister, to possibly force CNN News 18 to take down the tweet

To the channel’s credit, they quickly took the tweet down, and posted the correct map of India soon:

Honest mistake or just caught out? One may never know.
