Kejriwal uses sexist, misogynist language in Delhi Assembly, gets called out, but not by media

At a day long session in Delhi Assembly, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was his usual filmy self when he said “I am an elected CM of Delhi and I am not a terrorist”. The adrenaline then took him to another level where he screamed his lungs out.

AAP supremo was taking part in the discussion on a Bill to regularise guest teachers when he asserted by thumping his chest that he “owns Delhi” and he will “run Delhi”.

As if that was not enough, Kejriwal then made an extremely sexist and misogynist statement on the opposition and asked “mard ke bachhe ho to saamne aa ke rajneeti karo” as if “mard” ka bachha is what makes a person brave or weak.

This kind of 90s movie dialogues have only strengthened the deep rooted patriarchy. It is unfortunate that an elected representative would use such unparliamentary and uncouth language. The fact that his statement was received with loud cheers and table thumping can only show what kind of example he would be as a leader.

As expected, the mainstream media did not find fault with Kejriwal for his remarks, but the AAP supremo got called out on Twitter with help of some criticism and some humor:
