The Opposition seems to have discovered a golden opportunity to corner the BJP, in the matter of the anti-Padmaavat protests.
The Congress has questioned the BJP’s inability to maintain law and order across the country, amidst protests which have turned grossly violent. The Congress has now moved the Supreme Court seeking contempt action against the BJP government in the states which have witnessed a spate of attacks from mobs.

The Congress some allege, might be playing a clever double game over the protests, bearing in mind the elections in Rajasthan later this year. The BJP’s inability to curb the violence, seems to have provided the opposition with a huge opportunity to attack the party. And the opposition, which itself seems to have definite links with the groups indulging in violence, is taking advantage of the ruckus to the fullest.
