Read why West Bengal Police’s ‘promoted’ tweet has everyone in splits

It all happened when a ‘promoted’ tweet of West Bengal Police describing their heroics came up on the Twitter timeline. The act of bravery was finding a lost mobile phone, an ‘iPhone’, which was being returned by West Bengal Police to the rightful owner.

Of course, no deed is small enough, but the fact that it appeared as a ‘promoted’ tweet, meaning, the West Bengal Police paid money to bring that tweet on our Twitter timelines amused a lot of people. A lot of users voiced their surprise especially, as a lot of users pointed out that the ‘iPhone’ returned by West Bengal Police doesn’t really look like an iPhone.

Some users even mocked the West Bengal Police social media team by comparing it with teams of other cities and states.

People also took digs on the fact that the ‘stolen’ phone returned doesn’t quite lok like an iPhone.

Of course, the above image is Photoshopped.

This is not the first time the same police station has found a lost phone, returned it to rightful owners and ‘promoted’ such tweets.

Well, going by the tweets, the police station specialises in returning phones and they take immense pride in it.
