Journalist Ankit Yadav said that Kejriwal had come for the inauguration of a water treatment plant in Karawalnagar for the Delhi Jal Board, which is headed by Kejriwal. He said that in what was a department related program, lot of political sloganeering, including slogans against opposition parties, took place. When a journalist questioned the appropriateness of politicizing the department’s platform, AAP volunteers for miffed and started misbehaving and abusing journalists and tried to influence the reporting.

Ankit claims that after Kejriwal left the venue, the AAP volunteers created a ruckus and misbehaved with him while trying to influence reporting. He claims that AAP volunteers were not in a mood to hear critical feedback.

This is not the first time AAP workers have misbehaved with the press.

Misbehaving with or abusing those who disagree with them has been normalized by those associated with AAP since even their leaders, like Bhagwant Mann have indulged in such behaviour.

It will be interesting to see how Press Club of India will react to this alleged attack on media. In the past we have seen the Press Club behaving in ideologically biased manner. For example, when Republic TV journos were thrown out by leftists, one did not see a strong reaction from Press club. Not only were they silent, but many hailed the move by these bullies.
