The Ram Temple issue which was so far considered ‘untouchable’ by ‘secular’ parties has now found a new votary. It is none other than Tej Pratap Yadav, son of Lalu Prasad Yadav and a senior leader of RJD. He has claimed that RJD would build Ram Temple while speaking at wrestling event in Biharsharief earlier in the week.

Translation of Tej Pratap’s words are below :

Hindu, Muslim, Christian, extremely backward, poor, dalit , everyone would keep a brick over there. We will work on building a Ram Mandir. The day on which Ram Temple is built, RSS and BJP would be finished on that day. They will not have any issue on that day. They will bang a plate with a spoon after that.

The video of his remark is below :

Later, when media highlighted his words, he clarified that he wanted to build a ‘secular temple’ where all faiths could pray.

Tej Pratap Yadav’s clarification

The translation of his clarification is as below :

In the Biharsharief dangal program , I told that BJP guys talk about building a Ram Temple but do not tell the date of its construction. We will build such a temple where Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian and all people can worship. It will be a temple of humanity. BJP’s temple agenda will end when that happens.

The RJD leader’s clarification suggests that he wants to eat the cake and have it too. On one hand he wants to destroy the BJP after building Ram Temple in future. But in the present tense, he wants to ensure that non-Hindus don’t vote against his party for taking such a stance by introducing the concept of ‘temple of humanity’.
