BJP MP Anantkumar Hegde’s convoy hit by truck, suspects attempt on life

BJP MP and Union minister of state for skill development and entrepreneurship, Anantkumar Hegde on Tuesday claimed a ‘serious attempt on his life’ was made. In a series of tweets, Hegde posted pictures and video of the incident which took place when he was travelling on the national highway near Halegeri in Ranebennur taluk of Haveri district in poll-bound Karnataka.

While Hegde was unhurt in the incident, his support staff was injured, he tweeted.

He claimed that the vehicle which hit him was driving in the wrong direction and was parked on the road horizontally and it approached his convoy at great speed. He claimed that the people who gathered there caught hold of the driver, Naser, who did not appear intoxicated.

In subsequent tweet, he has urged the police to take investigate the incident.
