R Sriram, a journalist with Economic Times, in a series of tweets, exposed the tricks used by the senior advocates in the Judge Loya case verdict where the Supreme Court showed the propagandists their true place. Sriram, in his tweets, accused the lawyers of attempting to besmirch the judiciary and create an alternate reality.

He says as per the judgement, the SC judges were clear on two fronts, whether Judge Loya’s death was unnatural, suspicious. And other, whether Maharashtra government carried out due process and whether a special investigation was necessary.

SC pointed out several discrepancies in the report by Caravan magazine and reiterated by petitioners who relied on Caravan’s findings. Example, the incident of ordering an auto rickshaw to take Judge Loya to a nearby hospital. SC pointed out that Judge Loya was taken to hospital in local judge’s car. Another thing petitioners have claimed is that no ECG was performed. The Supreme Court says not only was the ECG performed at the Dande hospital, but the same was even referred to by doctors at Meditrina Hospital.

Another lie the SC nails is finding blood stains on Judge Loya’s death as well as the allegations that no one accompanied Judge Loya to his ancestral village in Nagpur.

He also points out how Caravan magazine’s report that Judge Loya could not have died of heart attack highly unscientific and inaccurate.

He says how the petitioners wanted to show that Judge Loya’s death was suspicious and in the process ended up questioning the motives of fellow judges who were accompanying Judges.

As Sriram rightly says, one thing to say there is something wrong in the Judge Loya death investigation and completely different to imply the fellow judges who helped him and stayed with him in his last moments as co-conspirators leading to his death.
