Arvind Kejriwal has been summoned by the Delhi police on May 18th for questioning in regards to the assault of Delhi chief secretary, Anshu Prakash. The AAP supremo is going to be questioned about his alleged involvement in the assault that occurred at CM’s residence on February 19th. This incident initiated a bitter battle between the executive and bureaucracy in Delhi. In fact, Kejriwal’s key aide had then issued a statement that he saw Prakash being assaulted in front of Kejriwal himself.

Delhi police have already questioned the 11 MLA’s present on that night at CM’s residence. The Chief Secretary was summoned to the CM’s house for a meeting on 19th February to discuss issues related to problems faced by the Delhi government while implementing AADHAR scheme. The Chief Secretary alleged that upon entering the residence, MLA’s in the presence of the CM physically assaulted him. The police had already questioned Kejriwal’s private secretary Vaibhav Kumar in connection with this case.
Additional DC (North) Harendra Singh confirmed that Delhi police has sent a notice under the section 160 CrpC, asking him to join the investigation on Friday. The officer stated, “We have given him the option to choose the location for questioning either at his residence or office,”
Several AAP MLA’s were detained after Prakash filed a complaint with the Delhi police, including Prakash Jawal was detained by the police. On February 23th the police examined the CCTV footage from the Chief Minister’s residence at civil lines area. The forensic report on the hard disk is still awaited.
Since the occurrence of this incident, both parties have alleged each other of creating hindrances in matters of governance.
