BJP slams Kumaraswamy’s ‘indebted to congress’ statement

Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy

Reacting to the comment made by Karnataka Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on his allegiance to the Congress party and not the people of Karnataka, the union minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda took to Twitter to ask the chief minister if his debt to the Congress would take precedence over the interest of the people of Karnataka.

The Karnataka BJP also reacted to the minister’s comments by stating that Kumaraswamy does not give two hoots about the 6 crore people of Karnataka. The state BJP unit felt that no democratically elected leader could have stooped lower in deriding the people whom he represents than Kumaraswamy. Karnataka BJP added, “One can only imagine the kind of loot he will preside to impress his Congress bosses”.

Kumaraswamy earlier has stated that his government is not an independent one and despite asking for a clear mandate from the people which would bar any possible outside pressure but from the people, it has not been so. He went on stating how he is at the mercy of the Congress and its directives, which he felt is much more important than the 6.5 crore people of Karnataka.

BJP MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar also took to the micro-blogging site and called it ‘worst kind of Congress politics’.

BJP’s chief Ministerial candidate B.S Yeddyurappa also asked for Kumaraswamy’s apology, “I want to remind him that he took oath as the Chief Minister to serve the people of Karnataka, not Congress party. He cannot work as the CM of Congress party. It is clear that Kumaraswamy is at the mercy of Congress.”
