Karnataka Chief Minister designate, H D Kumaraswamy, who swears in today after the high octane political drama that concluded last Saturday, will reportedly not be moving to his official residence since ‘vastu’ consultants have advised him against it.

According to reports, he will now be moving into Chief Secretary’s residence since it is east facing and will help him through the hurdles of the coalition government.
Interestingly, Kumaraswamy had told that he may not move to CM’s official residence because he didn’t want to waste public money.

In August last year, in anticipation of the win and on consultation of his astrologer, Kumaraswamy had got his ‘lucky’ residence at Jayanagar ‘renovated’. He considers the swanky bungalow ‘lucky’ since he moved here in 1999. Earlier, during the run-up to the elections, BJP Karnataka had pointed out instances where former chief minister Siddaramaiah appeared to be a believer of superstition. Ironically, Siddaramaiah was hailed in the intellectual circles for passing the Anti-Superstition bill.
Such conspiracies relating to official residences of elected representatives are not new. Son of Fodder scam convict Lalu Yadav and former minister in Nitish Kumar government, Tej Pratap Yadav had accused Nitish Kumar of letting loose ‘ghosts’ in his house. Tej Pratap, who dropped out of school after failing his 12th board exams, claimed the paranormal conspiracy against him following which he was ‘forced to’ vacate his official residence.
