NDTV lampooned on twitter for its unexplained gaffe involving dead Hizbul terrorist

The security forces on Sunday notched a major victory in Kashmir, after successfully gunning down five terrorists including Hizbul Mujahideen commander Saddam Padder, in the state’s Shopian district.

One of those killed included a certain Dr Muhammad Rafi, who used to be a contractual assistant professor at Kashmir University’s sociology department. Incidentally, Rafi had disappeared from his university a few days ago, leading its students to protest against the same. The university had subsequently asked the police to make all efforts for tracing his whereabouts.

It was subsequently revealed that apart from being an educator Rafi used to pass his time by being a terrorist.

Following his death, the NDTV on Sunday evening puzzled a lot of people by simply tweeting out the picture of the professor, without any accompanying text or caption:

This certainly amused a lot of people who decided to pull the media organisation’s leg for its gaffe:

The NDTV soon put out a corrected tweet in the replies of its former tweet, where it was found that the media organisation wanted to link an article titled, “Hizbul terrorists were told to surrender, they didn’t, say police”, with the accompanying picture.

Incidentally just earlier in the NDTV had suffered another slamming with regards to the terrorist cum professor, when it had chosen to call terrorism as a career option:

This had shocked a few people:

This careless and somewhat dangerous attitude with regards to terrorism was also displayed by its sister news channel NDTV India, which had revealed sensitive information about the Pathankot airbase while it was attacked by terrorists in January 2016.
